Therapy for Anxiety
If you experience anxiety, therapy can help.
I help people who experience symptoms of anxiety, including:
Social anxiety
Social anxiety is the fear of being judged in social and performance situations, and the urge to avoid such situations.
Generalised anxiety
Generalised anxiety is worrying about lots of different things in life, and finding it hard to manage this worry.
Panic attacks
Panic attacks have various symptoms such as a pounding heart, sweating, shortness of breath, nausea, dizziness, numbness or tingling.
Panic disorder
A panic disorder occurs when someone has panic attacks, worries about them, and tries hard to prevent them, in ways that cause more problems.
Heath anxiety
Health anxiety involves worrying about health a lot, and trying hard to find out about health, stay healthy, or avoid thinking about health - in ways that take up a lot of time and cause more problems in life.
I help people with anxiety using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while drawing heavily on evidence-based processes and skills. This helps to create a structured and flexible therapy approach to suit your needs.
Over a number of online sessions (usually 6-18), I will work with you to:
-
Make sense of your anxiety and clarify what you want and need
-
Build knowledge, learn skills, and apply them in therapy and outside in life
-
Solidify your new knowledge and skills, and leave with a greater sense of calm, confidence and freedom
If this approach sounds right for you, please get in touch about meeting.
